New Visiting Fellow Fernanda Beigel
The CRS is very happy to welcome Professor Fernanda Beigel from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina, as a visiting fellow. Her stay, from December 2026 to March 2027, is supported by the Collegium Helveticum with a NOMIS Senior Fellowship.
During her stay, Fernanda Beigel will work at the CRS and in collaboration with the UZH Centre for Higher Education and Science Studies (CHESS) to explore the challenges of the UZH Open Science policies, in relation to the national and global tendencies.
Related to DORA and the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information, one of the main goals of this fellowship is to strengthen the visibility and reuse of open data to boost the research information ecosystem. In this context, Fernanda Beigel will work with the UZH Open Science Working Group and the Open Science Services to analyse the openly available institutional metadata provided by ZORA, the institutional archive of the University of Zürich and its visibility across different research information infrastructures. This includes to seek the presence in OpenAlex and the OpenAIRE Graph, as well as looking at their circulation in large commercial databases. Finally, in close collaboration with the Swiss Reproducibility Network, this fellowship will lead to the organization of an international workshop to discuss contextualized notions of transparency in interdisciplinary environments.
