Research on Research Event 2026: Registration Open

We invite registrations and contributions for the Research on Research Event on January 29-30, 2026 at the University of Zurich city campus.

Following the successful inaugural Research on Research (RoR) event in 2024 organised by the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Center for Reproducible Science and Research Synthesis (CRS) is pleased to invite contributions to a follow-up event at the University of Zurich.

The programme on the first day will showcase contributions from the Swiss Research on Research community. The programme on the second day will consist of workshops with the goal to lay the groundwork for a large collaborative grant proposal.

This call invites contributions that examine how science operates or how it can be improved. We welcome theoretical reflections, empirical studies, methodological innovations, and case-based insights from all disciplines that advance our understanding of scientific practice and/or support the development of more robust, credible, and socially valuable research systems. Submissions may focus on evaluating and enhancing the efficiency, quality, and transparency of research processes — from study design, conduct and documentation to publication systems and funding mechanisms — or take a broader perspective, exploring the norms, values, and epistemic foundations of science itself. Topics covered include:

  • Research on research methodology (including AI, causal inference, forensic metascience, and research synthesis)
  • Epistemic diversity and biases in science
  • Research culture and integrity
  • Research assessment and science policy
  • Open Science and reproducible research

Contributions can take the form of a poster or a 20-minute presentation (including the discussion). The scientific committee of the event will evaluate all submissions and inform about acceptance within four weeks after the deadline.

A vibrant Swiss RoR community is vital for advancing this field, securing its financial sustainability, and enhancing the Swiss research landscape. Join us to share your work, exchange ideas, and shape future RoR collaborations in Switzerland.

Submit your contribution via this form.
The submission deadline for contributions is on 1 November 2025.
